SISTER-IN-LAW BY CHANCE ; FRIENDS BY CHOICE ;)

Before the last week she had been more of my brother's wife but our one week stay in Mumbai with my brother and sister-in-law completely changed our equation. Because of my brother's job in Mumbai we hardly got any time to stay with the newly-wed after their wedding. Phone calls and watsapp images was all that connected me to my sister-in-law then. But then quantity time is never so special as the quality time spent with someone. This week was truly the defining week for our relationship.

From being an amazing interior decorator to a mistress of the kitchen; and from being both lovely and bubbly to compassionate and understanding , I doubt if she has left any skill unmastered. If I elaborate her qualities it will be too long an article moreover the blog is more about us :p. The best moments spent with her were those during our shopping sessions. I have never had an elder sister and most of the times I have gone wrong with my fashion sense. But with her I got a lot to learn not only about buying the correct and reasonable stuff but also the skill of bargaining to get them at the best price possible. She opened her closet to me and treating me like her own younger sister she allowed me to have whatever I liked and forced me to take whatever looked good on me :). So now I basically have the best shades, 3 trendy apparels and some eye-catching accessories to compliment them and the fragrance that can make any guy's head turn ;) ; things that I can now flaunt and make my friends jealous with :D

My taste buds too love her now for the amazing pastas and Indian food that the incredible chef in my sister-in-law cooked for us. Although I'm going to have a real tough time in shedding off those extra calories now :/ . Newayz the amazing part is she took all the efforts to make sure my taste buds are pampered to the core.

Now from all our gossips we had I realised I can look up to her when I need advice with a complete guarantee that I will be heard, understood and when necessary my secrets will stay secret with her. The best surprise I got from Mumbai were the most prodigious sitcoms and movies that she transferred from her Mac to my iPad. Now I no longer need to wait for someone's laptop to come so I get to watch them. And yes the lip-smacking chocolate buscuits you gave me for my return journey served my taste buds for a day longer.

I have always felt the void of an elder sister but with you it has been filled. I don't want to thank her for all that she did during my stay in Mumbai but I thank her for the person she is. I thank her for accepting me as her own younger sister and for assuring me a guide, mentor and one-of-a-kind buddy.

As they say: "family isn't always blood. It's the people in your life that want you in their's."
